2026 Fall Registration Opens July 1st!
Boulder Ballet School would like to invite you to join our community of students, parents, faculty, staff, and avid dance lovers! We have a brand new school program structure and are so excited to share it with you! Scroll down for information regarding which dance level is best for you and to review our new program updates for the 2026-2027 School Year prior to registering for classes this fall.

Find the right dance level for you
Our young children-teens classes are organized by division. We recommend a certain division based on age but dance styles can also be chosen by experience and interest. Beginning in Level 2, Boulder Ballet also offers multiple program pathways so a dancer can choose to train in a more relaxed or rigorous schedule.

Foundation Classes are for students who are new to dance or would like to explore new styles of dance at any age.
The Foundations classes include:
Junior Ballet 1 (ages 9-11)
Junior Ballet 2 (ages 9-11 with experience)
Teen Ballet 1 (ages 12+)
Teen Ballet 2 (ages 12+ with experience)
Bilingual Ballet (ages 8-11)
Tap (ages 9-11)
Boys Ballet (ages 6-10)
Jazz/Hip Hop (ages 8-11)
Contemporary/Jazz (ages 13+)

Our leveled classes are for students who are interested in a longer pursuit of dance. Students can grow within our program from intermediate classes through a pre-prefessional track.
New students must contact beth@boulderballet.org to be placed in the correct level and try a class. Returning students are assessed at the end of each year to determine which level to register for the following year.

Primary Division serves dancers ages 18 months through Level 1B (ages 8+) based on age.
Classes include:
Mini & Me (ages 18 months-3)
Creative Movement (ages 3-5)
Pre Ballet 1 (ages 5+)
Pre Ballet 2 (ages 6+)
Level 1A (ages 7+)
Level 1B (ages 8+)
Mini Movers: Imagination in Motion (ages 8+)

Whether your dancer takes class for joy and community, artistic exploration, or is preparing for collegiate or professional opportunities — Boulder Ballet School has a place for them. Our new program structure makes it easier than ever to find a training path that matches your dancer's goals and availability, with room to grow and shift as those goals evolve.
Beginning in Level 2, Boulder Ballet School offers multiple ways for students to engage with dance training. The Foundations Program offers Flexible, high-quality dance education for students pursuing dance for joy and can be joined at any time. The Conservatory Program is a more structured curriculum which can lead into the Pre-Professional Track for those looking for profesisonal level classes and future dance opportunities. All dancers have access to classes appropriate for their level placement and may participate in performances, workshops, and community events.
Foundations Program

Open-access, high-quality dance education for students pursuing dance for joy, artistic growth, wellness, and community. Flexible engagement from Mini & Me through high school — no audition required. Beginning at Level 2, students may also pursue Conservatory Designation for a more structured curriculum.

A student can register for our Foundations Program at any time.
Beginners are placed in Foundations Level 1 classes by age.

Rigorous, high-quality training for students committed to deeper artistic and technical development. Conservatory Artists complete level-specific requirements and are recognized annually. Students who earn Conservatory Artist Designation demonstrate commitment, artistic growth, and alignment with BBS values.

Once a dancer registers and meets conservatory requirements, they will be given a conservatory artist designation and offically recongonized as a conservatory artist.

An expanded pathway by audition, supporting dancers with trainee, company, collegiate, or performance aspirations. Focuses include Trainee Focus (company aspirations), Versatility Focus (performance aspirations), and BFA Focus (collegiate aspirations).

Dancers must be a part of our Conservatory Program in order to audition for the Pre-Professional Track.

Performance opportunities vary by season and Pre-Professional Track group placement, and may include:
Boulder Ballet Nutcracker (company and school)
Competition Season - BCA, YAGP, YDC, ADC/IBC, NYCDA, NUVO (Jan-March depending on dates/competitions chosen each year)
Boulder Ballet Company spring production (pending BB company repertory each year)
BBS Spring Showcase - end of the year BBS performance (May)
Ballet In the Park - Boulder Ballet company show (June)

Individual Coaching on Classical Variations and Solos

*Snow Days will be announced on Instagram and on our website. We follow the BVSD guidelines for closures. No refunds will be given for school closures due to weather. Dancers are welcome to arrange with the office manager to take a makeup class.
