PRIMARY division

Welcome to Boulder Ballet School!

Boulder Ballet School's Primary Division brings together exceptional instruction and pure joy for children ages 3-8+, creating a vibrant dance family where young dancers thrive from day one. Our professionally trained faculty—many with prestigious company and conservatory backgrounds—make learning ballet fundamentals an adventure filled with creativity, laughter, and discovery using proven techniques.

Whether your child is giggling through their first plié or gracefully building upon existing skills, our small class sizes create an intimate community where every young dancer receives personalized attention and encouragement. Students flourish through carefully structured levels that celebrate creativity, musicality, and classical ballet foundations while building lifelong friendships alongside confidence and artistry.

  • Exciting performance opportunities including our magical The Nutcracker production and Spring Showcase where families celebrate together (ages 9+)

Hear From Our Dancing Families

“My daughter has absolutely loved her dance classes at Boulder Ballet.  She is learning strong technique and is able to take classes from a wide range of teachers including professional ballet dancers. This program has been the perfect balance of rigor and fun which can be challenging to find in a ballet school.

She has also made some great friends and is looking forward to continue her ballet training at Boulder Ballet.  We highly recommend Boulder Ballet!”

“Both of my daughters have been attending classes at Boulder Ballet for the last 4 years and we have had wonderful experiences with the studio and instructors. If your child stays with the program for a few years they are able to audition for the professional production of the Nutcracker the company puts on every year. Would highly recommend it for a child starting dance who may want to continue in the program for many years to come.”
