BOULDER BALLET’S DANCE DIRECT:
SPACE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

SUPPORTING DANCE ARTISTS WITH SPACE TO CREATE!

Are you creating a new choreographic work? Working on a new syllabus and need studio time to find best practices? Boulder Ballet’s Dance Direct: Space Residency Program creates space for both emerging and established artists to cultivate new practices, explore ideas, and share work without the pressure of a final product.  This program is open to dancers of all styles and genres.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

  • Free studio space for dancers, choreographers, and dance educators

  • Two (2) hours a week or a total of 24 hrs. total over 3 months (hours contingent on availability)

  • No culminating project required

  • No requirement to showcase a final product or work-in-progress

Dance Direct Space Residency Timeframes:

  • Round 1: Aug. 1, 2026 - Oct. 31, 2026

  • Round 2: Nov. 1, 2026 - Jan. 31, 2027

  • Round 3: Feb. 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027

  • Please share a biography

  • Letter of intent, including a summary of a project you would like to work on (one page)

  • Supporting materials in the form of video or photos are accepted but not required.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of community peers, and residency participants will be announced by July 14, 2026.
