WINTER TRAINEESHIP
Boulder Ballet is proud to introduce its Winter Traineeship Program, a six-week intensive designed for advanced dancers (ages 17+) seeking focused, high-level preparation ahead of the professional audition season.
This program offers a rare opportunity to work directly within a professional company environment - training alongside company artists, rehearsing repertory, and receiving individualized coaching and career guidance. Unlike traditional season-long trainee models, this intensive is strategically timed to support dancers at a pivotal moment: just before peak audition season.

What Makes This Traineeship Different
Most trainee programs require a full-season commitment, often limiting dancers’ ability to attend auditions due to rehearsal and performance conflicts. Boulder Ballet’s Winter Traineeship is intentionally designed as a short-term, high-impact intensive that precedes the audition season - allowing dancers to prepare and then pursue opportunities without restriction.
Additionally, this program emphasizes individualized development. Private coaching and professional consultation are central components that support dancers in identifying their strengths and aligning with companies where they are most likely to succeed.
Access to studio space further removes a common barrier, giving dancers the resources needed to create high-quality audition materials without incurring additional costs.
Program Philosophy
Boulder Ballet is committed to offering a traineeship that is truly beneficial to emerging artists. The program fee directly supports the artistic staffing and resources required to provide meaningful coaching, mentorship, and professional integration - ensuring participants receive a high-value experience that contributes to their long-term career development.
