Carly Hambridge
Originally from Charlotte, NC, Carly Hambridge began her training in ballet at age six and has immersed herself in movement exploration ever since.
In March of 2025, Carly retired from over a decade long career dancing professionally with companies across the country including BalletMet, Nevada Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. The last eight years of her career were spent as a leading dancer with Boulder Ballet in Boulder, CO. There, she performed the title role of Giselle, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker. She has also had the pleasure of performing in works by world renowned choreographers including George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Christopher Wheeldon, Paul Taylor, Amy Seiwart, Nicolo Fonte, Andrea Schermoly, Caili Quan, and Sidra Bell.
Carly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Pedagogy from Butler University and has over fourteen years of experience teaching ballet, pointe, contemporary, repertoire, and body conditioning to both youth and adult dancers of all ages and backgrounds. Carly is a licensed instructor of the GYROTONIC® Method and works one-on-one with clients to achieve their physical goals and create more movement harmony within their bodies. She expanded that certification to include specialized courses Gyrotonic for Dancers Programs 1 & 2 and Gyrotonic Level 2 Program 1. Carly has recently completed The Inner Life of Ballet™ “Port de Bras - The Gateway to Artistry” workshop under master teacher Alicia Head. Each continuing education program furthers Carly’s commitment and passion to teach dancers in an intellectual and anatomically safe environment.
Carly enjoys working with dancers and movers of all abilities and loves to nerd out about the limitless possibilities of the body and how movement can enhance our lives.
