Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
In keeping with its mission to extend the artistry,
passion and sheer joy of dance to our students, Boulder Ballet has
established a Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). As one of the region’s
premier ballet schools, Boulder Ballet believes that no child should be denied an
arts education because of finances.
With the current uncertain
economy, tuition costs are even more of a concern than in previous
years. With TAP, Boulder Ballet can make the study of ballet a reality
for deserving young artists in need of assistance. Executive Director
Peter Davison, a staunch supporter of the assistance program, states,
“We are dedicated to broadening our student base and bringing fresh,
deserving talent into our classes.”
With a gift of $2,500 or
more, a scholarship can be established in the name of the donor or in
honor of someone special. Individuals and businesses may fund a partial
or full scholarship on an annual basis. Or they may permanently endow a
Boulder Ballet scholarship to create a lasting legacy that will support
talented young student dancers for generations to come.
To
date Boulder Ballet has received scholarship funds from Colorado
Business Bank, Roche Corporation and Qualcomm. The organization’s
development director Brooke Parkin is encouraged by the early support,
“We thank them for their generous help in launching the much needed
scholarship fund. It’s a great beginning.”
Auditions for the
scholarship program will be held on Sunday, January 4th from 4 to 5
p.m. in Boulder Ballet’s Studio 1 at the Dairy Center for Arts, 2590 Walnut Street. All interested students ages 6-8 should arrive at the
Dairy for registration at 3:30 p.m. They must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian. A meeting for the parents and guardians will take
place during the audition. The Scholarship Committee will make the
selection based on financial need and aptitude. Selected students will
be notified by Friday, January 16th.
Boulder Ballet invites
individuals and businesses to join them in keeping the dream alive of
an exciting ballet education for all deserving students in need of “a
little help from their friends.”
