Welcome to Boulder Ballet School, the official school of Boulder Ballet. Under the direction of Ana Claire, this program has received local and national recognition. We offer classes from age 3 to adult.

Enrollment
The Boulder Ballet School accepts online registration for our classes. To register online, click here. If you don’t already have one, you will need to set up an account with a user name and password.

Enrollment can also be made by telephone - 303.443.0028 Ext. 1, or in person at the Boulder Ballet Office located in the front lobby of the Dairy Center for the Arts. Summer office hours are noon to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

Location
All summer classes will be held in the Boulder Ballet Studios at the Dairy Center for the Arts, 2590 Walnut Street, Boulder, Colorado 80302.

The Dairy is located at the intersection of 26th and Walnut streets. Free parking is available in the parking lot on the west side of the building off of Walnut Street (enter the Dairy via the blue staircase), or on 26th Street in front of the building.

Discontinuation Policy
Due to the short length of the summer sessions, no refunds will be given except for injury or other extraordinary circumstances as determined by the school.

Creative Movement―Level 1
Two five-week sessions: June 7 to July 9, and July 11 to August 13.

Classes meet once per week. Choose from days listed. Fees are listed as per- session/both sessions.

The basis of all theater is play. Learn new techniques and games to build confidence, presence and joy for performing.

Dance Theater June 14 to 18

Explore the theatricality of movement utilizing techniques of acting, while learning new approaches to choreography. Students will work solo and collaboratively to create dance/theater pieces that integrate the elements of performance (emotion, sound, costumes, props, etc.).

Alice Necsea Lucian Necsea
Our guest teachers for the 2010 Master Class will be Alice and Lucian Necsea, of the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. Alice was a principal dancer with the Vienna Opera and other European companies, where she performed the choreography of Rudolf Nureyev, Frederick Ashton, Jiri Kylian, John Neumaier and others. Lucian has performed with leading European ballet companies, in musicals, and on television as a character dancer. He is currently principal character dance teacher at the Vienna Opera Ballet School.

Adult Drop-in Classes

June 7 to August 21
(No classes July 4)

Drop-in classes are offered for dancers ages 12 through adult. No pre-registration is required. Payment is by the class, 10-class punch card, or Unlimited for a Month card. You can purchase your punch card at the studio before class (cash or check only) or at the office.

Beginning Ballet is offered for those dancers ages 12 through adult who are interested in exploring ballet and for those who may have had some earlier training to brush up on their skills.
